Portland: Snow Storm 2008

In the 20 years I lived in the NW, I have never seen it like this. Sure we get snow storms/freezing rain almost every year but it usually lasts for a day or two and it all melts away then everything is back to normal. This year is the first where the snow has lasted for over a week now. It's has offically driven me crazy.

It all started December 14th, 2008. An arctic air mass caused extremely cold temperatures and strong winds bringing the wind chill factor to the single digits in some areas. Meteorologists say this year's snowfall could surpass some past storms in 2004, 1998 and 1993. Only a storm in 1980 dumped more snow, about 11 inches, on the region.

WHEN WILL IT STOP!???!
