Kayaking @ Ridgefield

Ridgefield is a city in the pastoral, rolling-hills countryside of northern Clark County, Washington. Ridgefield is notable for the significant Native American and Lewis and Clark Expedition history of the area, but is also the home of the beautiful and verdant Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, a primary reserve for migrating waterfowl on the Pacific Flyway. With the stress of work, Niki and I decided to go kayaking looking for solitude and relax in the calmness on the water.

We rented kayaks from Ridgefield Kayak Rentals, located in a boathouse on Lake River, a tributary of the Columbia River, adjacent to the 5,150 acres of Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge with access to the Columbia River, Lewis River, Bachelor Island, Lake River and Vancouver Lake.
